I realize that you're reloading the Dell, but bc of how the licensing used to read, I'd be really surprised if they give us the ability to extract that license in a way that would allow you to potentially install it on different hardware.

Unless they've changed it, it used to read that the license wasn't transferable, meaning you couldn't load it on another machine if the Dell PC was retired for whatever reason. I haven't had to do this since they started tieing Office licenses to MS accounts because we stopped buying the bundled Office from Dell. Before we install we pull the web apps off which are typically there if you reload the Dell image.Īnd if you already know all this I apologize for wasting your time. Pay attention to how you install if you want full product - default is web apps. If the only activation on the MS account is that machine then you don’t have an issue - reload Windows, log onto the site and poke around to find your activation - I seem to remember under billing. So, if you can still operate Windows AND you have the full install of Office and not the apps you can get enough info to find the right install.
You are supposed to be able to have 25 activations per MS account but we have had issues with that at times.
